Transport Manager

Employing a full time Transport Manager is not always cost effective for small operators, however the law states that you must have one, and that they must be suitably qualified by holding a Certificate of Professional Competence.
Subject to an initial audit and discussion, Chevron Transport Management can act as an Independent Transport Manager and CPC holder for your business.

This service is charged per vehicle and fees will be subject to OCRS scoring.

An effectively trained workforce and management can:
  • Ensure legal compliance.
  • Increase efficiency of employees.
  • Reduce staff supervision.
  • Improve professional development of staff.
  • Improve communication between management and staff.
  • Increase profitability.
  • Reduce potential accidents.
Should you have a training need, we can arrange all levels of training from Drivers Hours, Vehicle Checks and Fault Reporting through to Transport Manager courses and refreshers.

Our primary company, Chevron Training, can provide you with Operator CPC and Driver CPC courses - see our website for dates and details

'O' Licence applications

From a full application service to advice and guidance, we can help to ensure your application is smooth and doesn't delay the issue of your
'O' licence.

This service covers Restricted, Standard and International 'O' licences.

It is important that when undertaking an application, that the information is detailed & accurate, this enables the Office of the Traffic Commissioner to process the application as quickly as possible.

If not done correctly and in a professional manner,  it could lead to an application being refused, or being considered by The Traffic Commissioner at a public inquiry, which can add extra time & cost to the process with no guarantee of it being granted.

Compliance Audits

Obtaining a Goods Vehicle Operator Licence is often the simplest stage in the process, the retention of the licence through meeting the legal responsibilities and duties is the real challenge.

Our comprehensive audit and compliance service will help you manage your operator licence systems and documentation to ensure you will never put your licence at risk and your business in jeopardy.

Our audit service comprises of the following:
  • Full examination of your preventive maintenance inspection framework.
  • Review of inspection frequencies based on vehicle activity and mileage.
  • Analysis of driver procedures and reporting.
  • Driver licence and CPC check procedure.
  • Driver disciplinary review.
  • Vehicle authorisation and Operating centre information.
  • Advice & guidance on frequency of follow-up visits and reviews.
